Is the Weight Capacity of the Surco 2 Bike Carrier Part # SP501BR Total or One Bike

Hi, Im looking to purchase your 501BR - Ladder Mounted Bike Rack. I wanted to know if it could hold a 47 pound tandem bike? Thank You

Yes, the Surco 2 Bike Carrier part # SP501BR will work with your 47 lb tandem bike so long as you use the inner set of cradles. I spoke to my contact at Surco to confirm this. They actually said that this bike rack would perform better with only one fairly heavy bike attached to the inner cradles as that will then make the rack more stable.

In order to lock your bike to the rack I recommend using a cable lock part # e98891. I have attached a review video of the bike rack for you as well.
