Will the Thule Doubletrack Work with Fat Tire Bikes

Question:

Can the wheel trays on the thule double track platform style 2 bike rack be swapped out to fit a fat tire 4 ? And if so can you recommend the product? I am currently making it work by using my own straps and squishing the tire into the existing trays...

I do have options for you but the Thule Doubletrack Platform-Style 2 Bike Rack will only fit tires up to 2.5" wide and they do not make a fat tire adapter kit for this rack. Therefore, you can either let some of the air out of the tires and squish them into the wheel trays like you have been or you can upgrade to the Thule DoubleTrack Pro XT Bike Platform Rack part # TH92BJ which accepts bikes with tires up to 5" wide. You could always sell the original Doubletrack to offset some of the cost if you wish to go with the DoubleTrack Pro XT. I wish I had a more cost effective solution for you.
