Can I Use a Lighting Fixture Circuit to Power a MaxxFan 4000

Question:

I’m installing a Maxxfan 4000k in an Econ 16rb trailer. The closest electricity -less than a foot away - is a light fixture. I’m replacing the 18 watt bulbs with 2 watt leds. The wire to the fixture is 18 gauge. Will that work?

What is the maximum amperage of the circuit for the lighting fixture you intend to use and what is the total amperage draw for the lights you have ran to that circuit? I would need to know this information in order determine if it has enough power for the MaxxFan 4000. The MaxxFan 4000 draws 5 amps so if the total amp draw for all of the lights you have on this circuit plus the vent fan does not exceed the maximum amperage of the circuit for the lighting fixture then you will be fine. The approximate gauge wire will be based on both length and amp draw but if you will be using the lighting fixture that is less than a foot away with a 5 amp fan than 16 gauge is recommended.

If you can't find the maximum amperage of the circuit for the lighting fixture you want to use then you would need to contact the manufacturer with your VIN.
