Extra Parts Needed to Install Roadmaster Even Brake in 2018 Ford Edge
Question:
I’m installing an Even Brake braking system in a 2018 Ford Edge. I installed the brake lite relay per Instructions “B” since the Edge uses push button start. Instructions for part B install say the green wire is not to be used. The install instructions for the ICX transmitter says to hook the green wire from the brake lite relay to terminal 1 with a spade connector if brake relay is used. Any help here is appreciated.

I forwarded this to our tech contact at Roadmaster and here is his response:
When the instructions say the green wire for the ICX (which is the common wire used on the relay) it is referring the the brake signal output. So when wiring to the B set of instructions, it needs to tie into the blue wire.
HOWEVER -- the 2018 Edge require a battery disconnect so you cannot/will not be able to use the brake light relay part # RM-88400. Instead, this vehicle needs a stop light switch kit # RM-751475.

I have a 2018 Edge SEL 3.5l Ti-VCT V6, I talked to one of your techs he told me I had to order #766 battery disconnect, plus # 153789 Smart diode kit, plus a #751475 Break Switch all to be installed into the Edge, Ford says to disconnect the negative cable from the battery , the tech told me to disconnect the positive, The process he suggested as follows, close all doors set tranny to neutral then disconnect positive wire
