Can Reducer Sleeve be Used with HitchMate TruckStep Extendable Step # HE4045

Question:

My truck is a 2018 GMC3500 with the oversize receiver that takes a sleeve to mount a 2x2 hitch Will this hitch fit since the sleeve inside the receiver makes for a much bulkier receiver

As long as you use your reducer sleeve to convert your oversize receiver to a 2 inch opening you can definitely use the HitchMate TruckStep Extendable Step # HE4045 referenced in your question. The opening the reducer provides will be plenty secure enough for a stable step when it's mounted.

The only thing you will want to check for on your 2018 Sierra 3500 are any possible obstructions behind the hitch under the vehicle. When the step is inserted in the hitch the support arm will extend under the truck 22-1/2 inches from the front of the hitch receiver. You can take a look at the image I attached for clarification. If you have a spare tire or any other possible obstructions under the truck you may want to take a quick measurement to see if there is a possibility of interference.
