Does this require that the tow hooks be removed? Does this also allow air to move through the transmission cooler?

The Aries AdvantEdge Bull Bar # AA2164101 referenced in your question is confirmed to fit your 2018 Chevy Silverado 2500. Looking through the installation instructions for this unit the factory tow hooks on your Silverado will be removed just during installation but they are quickly re-installed along with the mounting brackets for the Bull Bar.

With the Bull Bar mounted there will still be plenty of airflow at the front of the truck to allow the transmission cooler to do its job.
