Recommended Locking Hitch Pin for Bike Rack and Receiver Compatibility

Question:

I have a 2 inch hitch and am using an adapter down to 1-1/4-I have a 5/8inch hitch pin to hold the adapter to the original 2inch hitch....Can I use a long shanked Brinks lock to lock the bike carrier onto the adapter?

For your bike carrier, there are normally specific threaded anti-rattle pins that are manufacturer specific. If you particular rack does not require that and simply uses the 5/8 inch pin, then you can use the SilentACT Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Accessories Lock - 1-1/4", 2", and 2-1/2" Hitches # SHP2082 which is compatible with your 2 inch hitch receiver and the 1-1/4 inch shank of the bike rack.

I can't confirm that the Brinks long shank lock will fit and function as intended with your bike rack as it has not been tested for strength or fit.

I've attached the link to all the hitch lock options and the rack specific lock options to assist as you determine the brand of bike rack and compatibility.
