What Signal is Carried on the Brown Wire of a 4-Way for a 2006 Ford E-150

I need to know what powers the brown wire on a 4 pin connector on a E150 2006. thank you

Typically the brown wire on a 4-Way connector carries the tail/running light signal for a trailer. This could be the same for your 2006 Ford E-150 but since manufacturers don't always follow this pattern you can just use the attached photo to help you determine what the function should be.

If the brown wire is right next to the open ground pin on your 4-Way then it should be the tail/running light circuit. If this doesn't have any signal you can start off by checking the fuse for that circuit and if that looks good move on to checking the wiring itself for any places where it is damaged or bent. You can replace any damaged wiring with 16 Gauge Wire # 16-1-1 and Butt Connectors # DW05744-5. A circuit tester like part # PTW2992 can be used to verify the functions of each of your wires.
