Load Range G Trailer Tire Size 235/85-16 with High Speed Rating Recommendation
Question:
2015 Dutchman Voltage fifth wheel toy hauler GVWR 16,800.. We bought it new and have clocked about 10 - 12K on it over the last three years. Prior to pulling in to the drive I shredded a rear tire this last trip. Yes I checked the tire pressure before leaving the camp ground. Run 5 pounds 75 under in hot weather. Factory OEM = Westlake ST235/80R16..10 ply I think? China! I want to move up to a Ginch rated tire with a Minch 81mph speed rating. Want to also go the a 235/85 …. need that taller profile to help remove some of that tail tilt. Its not much but I think it would help. What would be the BEST tire you could recommend? 7K axles with 3,960# wheels... yes I know its a little over but Im tired of tearing up wheel wells and undercarriages. Thanks in advance.

We have a tire that covers everything you want. For that you'd need the Taskmaster Tire part # TTWPRG235R16 which is a 235/85-16 trailer tire in a Load Range of G with a weight capacity of 4,400 lbs per tire when inflated to 110 psi. This also has an M speed rating which means it's good for 81 mph. This is a great solution and currently the only one that covers all of the things you need.
