What is the Difference Between a Standard and RV Refrigerator

Question:

Guess I am confused. What exactly makes this a RVinch refrigerator? It appears to be no different than any other small compact refrigerator that you can buy anywhere. When this a RVinch refrigerator, I assume that it was going to be a propane/electric combo refrigerator like RVs have. Thanks,

There are differences between an RV refrigerator like the Furrion Refrigerator part # FCR43ACA-BL and a standard one you would find at your local appliance store. They may not be noticeable just by looking but there are in fact key differences.

The most important difference is the built-in vibration dampening. The RV refrigerators have much sturdier internals which are designed for more abuse because they go over bumps all day long in your RV. A standard refrigerator would work for a while but over time the internal components would loosen and eventually fail much quicker than an RV refrigerator.

The other major difference is the coating. The RV refrigerators are made so that they don't lose the cold air as quickly. This is because with an RV refrigerator you can expect power outages much more frequently than that of your home. The frequent power outages not only means you lose the cold air quicker but it is also harder on the electric components which standard refrigerators are not used to therefore won't last as long.

None of our RV refrigerators operate off of propane gas, they are all electric.
