Question:
Cat converter heat shield direction? magna flow 999206hm cat conv. has a large air gap on one end of heat shield. is large air gap used in the front of the cat for better cooling? The cat is bi-directional otherwise.

The MagnaFlow Heavy Metal Loaded, Stainless Steel Catalytic Converter # MF99206HM is a universal fit with 2-1/2 inch inlets and outlets and either side can be the front or back on your 2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. Only the direct fit converters which are vehicle-specific such as the MagnaFlow # MF49400 will require you install it a specific way.
