Bypassing TIPM for Trailer Wiring Fix on 2004 Dodge Ram 1500

Question:

I have an 04 Ram 1500, Regular Cab, ST, RWD, 5.7, with factory 7 pin connector and harness. Im having issues with the trailer lights on the right. Now, Ive done a good bit of research and discovered about the relays attached to the circuit board in the power distribution center. I went ahead and ordered a new power dist. center and will try to have the relays replaced on the old one to have as a spare.. Before installing the new PDC, none of the trailer lights worked but tail lights. With the new power distribution center installedwith the old body control module, every other trailer light function works. Left turn, back up, tail light, etc. Also, the vehicle lights work perfectly fine. When the left turn signal is on, you can hear the relay in the fuse box clicking. When the right turn signal is on, no clicking. I verified this by testing the trailer harness under the cab with a test light. Blinks for left, nothing for right. Where can my issue be at this point? The only thing I can think is a possible wiring issue between the column and where the harness goes into the PDC. This is really starting to give me a migraine at this point. Lol Any info would be great. Thank you.

The TIPM setup of your 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 which handles your trailer wiring is a huge pain. At this point I would cut your losses with it and bypass it for the trailer wiring.

All you will need is the Upgraded Circuit Protected Tail Light Converter Hardwire Kit # 119178KIT along with 4-Pole to 7-Pole Adapter # 37185 if you do not have a brake controller or # ETBC7 if you do have a brake controller.
