5th Wheel Tow Capacity vs. Bumper Pull Tow Capacity For 2013 Ram 1500
Question:
Ive tried to get a straight answer and I simply cant find one! My 2013 Ram 1500 says Max tow capacity is 8650 lbs with max payload of 1487. I am new to pulling a trailer. we have a bumper pull but want to upgrade to newer and possibly a 5th wheel. My question is, can I tow a heavier trailer if it is a 5th wheel than if it is a bumper pull or is 8650 my max regardless? Thanks in advance!

Your overall towing capacity for a fifth wheel trailer would be 8,650 lb like you mentioned. When it's time to pick out a hitch check out the link I attached that has all of the hitch and rail kits we offer for your 2013 Ram 1500. You'll need to select your bed length from the drop down menu and all of the correct fits will be listed.
