Best Engine Oil and Transmission Cooler for a 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe with the 5.3L V8 Engine
Question:
Many coolers have a class rating, what is the transmission cooler rating and the engine oil cooler rating? I see pictured the metal strap supports in the cooler writeup, but do not see a flange on the cooler that they can be attached to. How can these straps be attached to the cooler to support it? Thanks

The Derale Combination Transmission and Engine Oil Cooler for GM Applications part # D15903 does not have a class rating. The class ratings are a guide that we use to help consumers pick the correct transmission cooler for their towing setup. They are not used by the manufacturer but I would say the above cooler is a class IV which will be more than suitable for your 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe with the 5.3L V8 engine.
In regards to installation, you will need to use the included plastic rods, clips, and foam pads. The metal support brackets will not be used as there are no flanges on the cooler as you mentioned.
