Lock Recommendation for Swagman XC Bike Rack
Question:
From looking at the pictures of the Swagman XC bike rack on your website, it appears that there is a through-hole in each of the 2 trigger mechanisms that allow the ratcheting arms to move vertically when depressed. Is it possible to put locks through the holes to prevent depressing of the triggers?

I spoke with my contact at Swagman to see what size padlock shackle you would need for the hooks on the Swagman XC # S64650 and she actually advised against doing so. She said that the holes in the hook assembly are there to hang the assembly for when it gets the powder coat treatment and haven't provided the best security when customers have tried using a padlock.
Instead you need to use the Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock and Cable # S64031 to lock both the bikes and the bike rack. If you already have the threaded lock # S64029 then you can purchase the cable separately with part # S2005.
