What to do When Stop Light Switch Signal is Lost for Prodigy P3 # 90195 on a 2003 Chevy Silverado

Question:

I have a Tekonsha P3 plugged into my truck, it stopped working last month. Using the built in trouble shooter, and checking the harness, I have lost the brake pedal signal. Ive checked fuses, but cant find one related to this signal. Have you seen this before ? The manual control works. thanks.

I took a look at an online version of the owner's manual for your 2003 Chevrolet Silverado. I would try checking the VEH CHMSL fuse in the instrument panel fuse block, the TRAILER fuse in the center instrument panel fuse block, and the STUD 2 fuse in the fuse block under the hood.

If those look good then there is probably some OEM wiring damaged and it would be better to run some wire from your 3rd brake light (or any circuit that only receives power when the brake pedal is pressed) and splice it in to the red wire on your Prodigy P3 # 90195.
