Why Does the Control App on Lippert Touch Screen Disappear
Question:
The control app on touchpad has disappeared from the screen. The black exterior control will not do anything. It seems that every time the battery dies all contrils die with it. We dont use the 5th wheel that often but with the battery dies it wipes all controls for landing gear. How can I avoid this from happening every time? How can I reinstall the function onto the LCI touchscreen.

I spoke to my contact at Lippert and they informed me that the reason the control app disappears is because you have lost power to the touchpad. This is caused by the dead battery in your trailer. The icon will appear once proper power is restored to the unit but it will do this each time the system loses power. The best option for you would be to install a battery charger on the trailer with something like part # CTEK56353 as continuously draining and charging the battery will negatively affect its longevity.
