Method to Secure TireSavers RV Tire Covers ST7002WH in Windy Conditions

Question:

I am considering these wheel covers for our fifth wheel travel trailer. The question I have is how well these covers survive high winds. Our trailer is stored in an area where 70+ mph winds are not uncommon. Will these covers stay attached?

Enough wind coming from the right direction could affect stability of a tire cover like # ST7002WH or of an RV cover for that matter. In exceptionally windy conditions it might be advisable to place bungee cords or another type of retention strap around the covers to prevent loss in rough conditions.

Covers like these are not formally rated for wind speeds so in the interest of protecting your tire cover investment an item like 24-inch Power Pull Bungee # EM06656 would be a worthwhile safety measure. This bungee has two steel I-beam hooks that could be secured to the rear of your wheels to help stabilize the covers. Two of these per wheel installed in an X pattern ought to avoid risk of the covers coming off.
