Trailer Hitch Mount Platform Bike Recommendation for a 55 Pound Electric Bike and a Regular Bike
Question:
I just purchased an electric bike which weights 55 lbs without the battery. My wifes bike weights 25 lbs. Do you have a platform hitch mounted bike rack which will meet my needs?

The Thule T2 Platform-Style 2 Bike Carrier, # TH83JV, has a 120 pound capacity which would translate to 60 pounds per bike. At 55 pounds without the battery, your bike would be right under that limit so it should fit. You will need to consider wheel size as well.
This rack holds bikes with tires as wide as 5 inches and sizes from 20 to 29 inches. This model bike rack fits in a 2 inch trailer hitch receiver.
The 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch version, # TH23JV, has a capacity of 100 pounds with a single bike capacity of 60 pounds so it should work as well.
Similarly, we have 2 Yakima HoldUp Bike Racks that will carry both bikes. The 2 inch hitch version is # Y02443. I have included a link to the installation details for you.
