Solution for Lining Truck Up with Gooseneck Trailer that has Fuel Tank in Bed

Question:

I have a F-250 with a fuel tank in the back, i am also trying to hook up a gooseneck trailer. Will this work with this setup? I don’t want to hit the fuel tank with the trailer ?? that would be very bad. Thank you.

I definitely agree that you will want to take extreme precaution when lining up your Ford F-250 with a gooseneck trailer for hookup with a fuel tank behind the cab. The Easy-Hitch Telescoping Hitch Aligner # JE00600 that you referenced is a good idea to help with this process. You can mount one of the telescoping rods onto the gooseneck ball in your truck bed and when the gooseneck coupler hits the rod you know you are lined up and you don't need to go any further. The rod can telescope out to an extended height of 43-3/4 inches so you will just want to make sure this is tall enough to see over the fuel tank while you're slowly backing up.

I have attached a short video demonstration on this system that you can also check out.
