What Type of Braking System is Needed to Flat-Tow a 1990 Jeep Cherokee
Question:
Hello, Besides purchasing a brake controller is there anything else I need to purchase in order to get the braking to work on my 1990 Cherokee? This is my first time towing anything over 3,000 lbs and per WA law I have to have a brake controller. Ill be towing it flat with a tow bar. Thanks!

I think you are confusing a brake controller with a supplemental braking system. A brake controller is used when towing a trailer whereas a supplemental braking system is used when towing a vehicle. A brake controller would do you no good towing your 1990 Jeep Cherokee but a supplemental braking system like the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR would. The Patriot 3 is easy to install and remove from the vehicle. It will apply the brakes in the toad at the same intensity as that of those in the tow vehicle. It has everything you need.
