Does Electric Jack w/ Footplate # EJ-3520-BBX Require Killswitch
Question:
I just installed this jack and love it. I have it hooked to my battery via an O-ring. Someone on one of the camper forums strongly suggested that I also install a battery kill switch and I am confused as to why I would need to do this. If I am not using it, and the light switch isnt on, is the unit still drawing power from the battery? I was thinking that maybe they were doing this as a security measure. Thank you.

I could understand installing a hidden killswitch on the power wire of the Electric Jack w/ Footplate # EJ-3520-BBX as a theft detterant, but it would not need one for just basic operation. If you had a hidden switch you could prevent someone from being able to lower the jack onto their hitch ball unless they could find the switch which they most likely wouldn't have any idea is the reason it's the problem.
