Recommended Brake Controller for 2018 Forest River Georgetown 36B5F
Question:
I am looking to purchase a 18ft flat bed trailer with electric brakes on one axle. The trailer appears to have the standard 7 pin plug. I have a 2018 Georgetown 36B5F that also has a 7 Pin plug. What is involved with setting up my RV to use electric brakes to be used with the flat bed trailer? Is it just a matter of finding a wire harness at the dash and purchasing a pigtail and controller? Is this plug and play? Excuse my ignorance. Thanks.

Your 2018 Forest River Georgetown 36B5F uses a Ford F53 Chassis so since it has a 7-way trailer connection already present, you simply need the custom wiring harness # 3035-P. This wiring harness will connect to the factory wiring harness located beneath the dash, near the center console. Then I recommend using the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 for a brake controller because it has a very easy to read LCD screen with diagnostics that require no code deciphering.
This combination will be plug and play as you stated. I've attached some videos to assist.
