Recommended Hitch-Mounted 4-Bike Rack for 2013 Jeep Wrangler with Spare Tire
Question:
I see a question was answered similar to this and the expert stated that they could provide some options to consider that would work with my specific setup. I measured the distance from the middle of the hitch hole to the outer most portion of my 35inch spare using a tape measure and 4 foot level against the tire and it came out to be about 11.5 inches. What 4 bike carrier options should I be looking at?

Thank you for providing the hitch pin hole to spare tire measurement on your 2013 Jeep Wrangler. This makes recommending a compatible bike rack a lot easier!
For a 4-bike carrier that will work great for your Jeep, I recommend taking a look at the Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR. This is an excellent hanging-style rack that can handle 4 bikes of up to 35 pounds each. There will be a distance of 13-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the upright bar of the carrier, so you won't have any interference between it and the spare tire on your Jeep. This rack features dual arms for excellent bike support and HoldFast cradles that will gently cushion the bike frames. I do recommend adding the Thule Hitch Lock # THSTL2 and Cable Lock # TH538XT to secure everything into place and help deter theft.
I have attached a video demonstration that shows this rack being used on the 2014 model Jeep Wrangler that you can check out.
If you plan on transporting any children's, women's, or alternative frame bikes you might also need an adapter bar like the Kuat # UB01. This will provide a horizontal attachment point for level transport and improved ground clearance. I have attached a short video demonstration on this adapter so you can see exactly how it works and why it might be needed.
