Troubleshooting Trailer Running Light Taillights that Override Stop/Turn Circuits
Question:
My RV brake lights work fine when it is daylight. As soon as it gets dark all the lights come on the trailer including the brake lights. When this happens the brake lights are constantly on and the blinkers don’t work? Please help

The issue is most likely a short between the running light and stop/turn signal or you have the circuits ran backwards and your vehicle running lights are running to the brighter illumination circuit on your trailer lights.
I'd first try swapping the two wires that run to your main taillight assemblies as I believe that will fix the problem.
