2004 F-150 Transmission Cooler Recommendation

Question:

I’m wanting to replace my factory cooler with an aftermarket cooler for better cooling capabilities. What would be the best way to bypass the factory one and install a new one? It’s a 2004 new body style F-150 4x2 4.6L V8.

Actually the best way to do it is to run from your factory cooler to a supplemental cooler then back to your transmission. This gives you the best cooling for the fluid which will prolong the life of the transmission. For trucks your size we normally recommend a larger cooler like the part # D13504 which measures 11" Wide x 12" tall x 7/8" deep.
