Troubleshooting 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Going Into Park When Hooked Up to Trailer

Question:

When trying to attempt hooking trailer my Jeep automatically goes into park, how can I override, nothing in my manual about towing trailer just about getting towed, help please!, even tried googling it and YouTube but nothing! I also turned park assist off.

It sounds like your 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee is equipped with ParkSense and the trailer might be triggering the sensors on this system, which is in turn activating this function on the vehicle. When towing a trailer, you will want to disable ParkSense. I took a look at the online version of your Jeep's owner's manual and it looks like this can be disabled by simply pushing the ParkSense switch on your dash. When pushed, the instrument cluster should display "PARKSENSE OFF". It will remain disabled/off until you push the switch again.
