How to Use Reese Elite/Ford OEM 5th Wheel Hitch on 2008 Ford Truck
Question:
I have 2018 Ford 350 short box with the puck system that my Reese 5th wheel fits into, I was wondering if there was a adapter kit that would also allow me to use that hitch in my 2008 Ford Dually shortbox??

I may have a solution for you, however there is not an adapter available that would let you use your Reese Elite Series 5th Wheel Hitch # RP30144 with your 2008 Ford truck, assuming it is equipped with standard, above-bed base rails. If you don't yet have base rails installed, or are okay replacing the ones that are there, what you can do is use the Reese Under-Bed Rail and Installation Kit # RP30073. This will give you underbed rails with a puck system that matches what you have on your 2018 F-350. With this installed on your 2008 truck, you will be able to use the Reese Elite hitch on both trucks without issue.
I have attached an installation video you can use for reference, along with the written instructions that you can check out.
