What is Needed to Increase Torque and Horsepower on a 2003 Ford F250 Super Duty Crew Cab 5.4L

Question:

I have a 2003 Ford F250 Super Duty Crew Cab 5.4L that I just bought to tow a boat and trailer package that weighs right at 7000lbs. This is right at the max towing capacity for this truck...what can I do to increase HP and Torque to help out with towing. I only tow occasionally 3-4 times a years over 100 miles each way. Other than those tows...the others would be very local, 5-10 miles max.

The first thing that will increase your torque and horsepower is a cold air intake system like the Airaid # AR401-114. These don't have a specified amount of increase in those areas for your 2003 Ford F-250 but it is the thing to add. This will need to be cleaned periodically with the solution # AR790-554 and we also have replacement filters # AR701-445 if you ever need to replace yours.

The next thing you can add to boost your torque and horsepower is a performance tuner. I recommend using the Superchips Flashpaq F5 # SU1845 but if you live in California you will need part # SU4845 instead. Under the right conditions you can see up to a 49 increase in torque and a 25 increase in horsepower.
