Can Hollywood Racks Expedition Bike Rack Attach to Aluminum Hatch
Question:
Your review states that this rack is good for 2012 prius but the instructions say inch hook onto steel frame only! the car has aluminum on hatch. Confused and going camp riding tomorrow. Is the rack okay for 2 bikes. 4 hour drive to camp.

You are correct that the trunk-mounted Hollywood Racks Expedition does specify not to attach the hooks to aluminum so if that what your 2012 Toyota Prius has I would not recommend using it.
A trunk-mounted bike rack I can recommend for you is the Thule Passage 2 Bike Carrier # TH910XT which does not have the restrictions from the manufacturer that the Hollywood does. The instructions for your Prius even specify to "Place top clips in the gap at the front edge of the top of the trunk, hatch or door."
Additionally, please note that when using any hanging rack like the Passage you'll need bike frame adapter bar # TH982XT if your bike is dual-suspension, has a step-through frame or you want to carry a small children's bike. The bar will give those bikes a horizontal mounting point so they can be carried by the rack.
