Way to Get Brake Light Circuit for SMI DUO Installed on 2012 Chevy Cruze
Question:
I just installed TM780095 on a 2012 Chevy Cruze, I also bought a Roadmaster brake lite relay kit, but dont see how I can use it because of integrated wiring. So I guess I need to install 2 diodes, do I need them before or after the wire harness plug-in connectors, and will this cover the 3rd brake light? I am also installing a stay in play Duo braking system that also calls for wiring into the brake light switch for the toad indicator light. Should this be wired into the break-away switch, or a brake light wire in the yellow, green, brown, white combo wire? Thanks.

To give you a brake light signal the easiest option will be to wire one to your Cruze's brake pedal with the part # RM-751451. This is a custom fit switch kit for your 2012 Chevy Cruze that will give you a 12 volt signal when the brakes are applied. You can use this circuit for SMI DUO part # SM99251. This will cover the stop light and blinker circuits.
For diodes to prevent back feeding you'll need the part # RM-690 and you'll be set. These install on the Trailermate wiring and not the vehicle.
