How to Reduce Sway by Adjusting Chain Links on Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution System

If you are still seeing a lot of sway after installing the Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution System # BXW1500 you can try pulling another one or two chain links up and through the brackets (and having less chain length above the spring bars). This will pull the spring bars up a bit to increase tension and hopefully reduce any sway you are experiencing.
Also make sure that the system is rated appropriately for your total tongue weight. Your total tongue weight includes both the loaded tongue weight of your trailer along with any added cargo weight coming from behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. This number should fall comfortably within the tongue weight range on your system. The Blue Ox SwayPro # BXW1500 features a tongue weight capacity of 1,000 to 1,500 pounds.
Another factor that might lead to increased sway is the amount of tongue weight you have on the trailer related to its total weight. A trailer's tongue weight should be around 10 to 15 percent of its total weight. If your tongue weight is less than this then it might be contributing to the sway issues you're having. Redistributing some of the weight should resolve this.
