Tip for Retrieving Bolt During Hitch Install Where Spacer Plate was Forgotten
Question:
Any advice on what to do if i forgot to put the 1 by 3 inch block on the carriage bolt before ing into the frame? Now the carriage bolt just spins and spins when i try to tighten.

If you didn't damage the bolt leader you could put it back on the bolt and see if you could feed it back towards the access hole. If you can get it close to the access hole you might be able to use a flexible retrieval magnet to get it the rest of the way out. Local car parts store would have a magnet like that.
