Troubleshooting Used Trailer Missing ID Plate For Registration
Question:
I live in NH and bought a used boat trailer. The I D plate containing serial number and manufacture info is missing. How do I register this.

Many trailers are missing this information, so this is a common issue. You will want to contact your state highway patrol to have them inspect it and assign you a VIN so you can register your trailer.
Before you do this, I recommend looking at your title or bill of sale for this info and then checking the entire trailer frame for any numbers. A VIN can be located anywhere on the trailer frame and is normally stamped into the metal if there is one present on a trailer.
