Where is 30 Inch Measurement Taken on Slipper Spring # e29SR
Question:
I know double eye leaf springs are measured eye to eye. How are slipper springs measured? Example part # SP-038275 is listed at 30 inches, is that eye to end of spring or eye to mount/rub area? Does a 30inch slipper compare to say a 27inch eye to eye spring since on a slipper some of the spring has to hang out hanger bracket? Thanks

Expert Reply:
2-Leaf Slipper Spring # e29SR measures 30 inches from the center of the eye to the very end of the spring. I included a picture showing some measurements for this spring:
A is 13-3/4 inches
B is 30 inches
C is 15 inches
D is 17-3/4 inches
E us 4-7/8 inches
It depends on the design of the slipper spring by a 27 inch double eye spring would connect to the hangers at about the same locations as a 30 inch slipper springs. The two styles use different hangers though.
