Replacement Gearbox and Linkage Assembly for Kwikee Step on 2004 Winnebago Brave Motorhome
Question:
I have a 2004 Winnebago Brave and my stairs are working but making a loud grinding noise. I believe I need to replace my gearbox and linkage. The number inscribed on the plate is 151320. What would you recommend as a replacement?

Powered RV steps that still operate but that make bad mechanical noises may not need a new motor, but you're right that it is likely you'll need a new gearbox and/or linkage. There are two possible kits for your step unit.
Part # LC379161 is the B style linkage for the Kwikee Step Series 28, 31, 37 and 39. This is Kwikee part number 1101426.
Part # LC379162 is the C style linkage for the Series 26 step, Kwikee part 1101427.
My contact at Lippert/Kwikee said that on the bottom of your step unit there should be a sticker that indicates the step series. This will tell you which kit you need.
The part # LC379160 you referenced fits steps made after 2006.
