The hole on the front face of the Rear View Safety Rear View Mirror part # RVS-718-DODGE below the white tag (see photo) is a sensor for the auto dimming feature. However, please keep in mind that you will not gain this feature if the factory rear view mirror did not already have this but it will allow you to retain it if equipped.
