Fulton F2 Swing-Up Trailer Jack Materials Used and Corrosion Resistance
Question:
Greetings, This jack, in its various configurations, is rated as suitable for harsh / marine applications for example, good around salt water. It is stated to have corrosion-resistant i.e., aluminum and plastic components. Question: what is the material of the axle and tubular center spacer for the two wheels? One might suppose a SS axle / aluminum spacer, but what is it actually? Hopefully NOT plain / galvanized steel... Thanks

Helpful Expert Reply:
The axle for the wheels and the spacer on the Fulton F2 # F1413060334 is a galvanized steel. The only aluminum is on the outside of the tube according to my tech contact at Fulton. These parts don't have the same corrosion resistance as the aluminum alloy tube but it will provide some resistance to corrosion. If you will be in salt water, it is recommended to rinse these components with freshwater after use.
