I need to know if the rack will fit a road bike size 48 without any adapter

Most likely a 48 roadbike would easily fit on the Hollywood Racks SR2 2-Bike Carrier # HRSR2 but if the top tube of the bike is not horizontal or is an odd shape you'd also need the bike frame adapter part # UB01.
