Troubleshooting Curt Gooseneck Hitch Ball Stuck in Bed of 2016 Ram 2500
Question:
I cannot get the ball to come out of the hitch. The tab on top will not go all the way down or all the way up. the tab will spin about 3/4 of the way around but it does not seem to be doing anything. Can you give me some ideas to free the ball or can you tell me a place to take it to. I live around Flint, Michigan. thanks

Expert Reply:
The Curt Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Ram 2500 # C60614 sounds like the hitch ball has been damaged. I recommend first using a penetrating oil like the UltraLube Biobased Spray Lubricant and Penetrant - 12-oz Aerosol with Straw to spray into that hitch ball lever and also around the edge of the hole on the top and bottom. Use a little vibration from a rubber mallet to let the oil find its way into all the bound locations. Let sit for a few minutes and then try again. Repeat as needed. After that, I recommend reaching out to the manufacturer as your system should be under warranty.
