Bike Rack for 2011 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class That Allows Rear-of-Vehicle Access
Question:
Can the trunk be opened with the bike rack mounted?

Unfortunately there are no trunk-mount type bike racks that allow a vehicle's trunk to be opened while the rack is installed. Also, rear window wipers typically cannot be used with trunk racks. These limits also apply to the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top 3 Bike Rack # HRF2-3.
The best option for bike transport that let's you keep both rear-of-vehicle access and the use of a rear wiper is a hitch and hitch-mounted type rack like the Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR which is a 4-bike rack that both tilts and folds. One of the best rack options in this 4-bike capacity is the Yakima FullSwing # Y02465 which swings over to the passenger side even when fully-loaded with bikes as shown in the included video.
To use a rack like this you will need a hitch installed on the car and I recommend the no-drill Draw-Tite 2-inch model # 75774 which is shown in the linked video.
