Replacement Weight Distribution System for Trailer with Dry Tongue Weight 718 lbs
Question:
I am taking delivery on new travel trailer. Have old hitch setup with round bars rated at 750. New trailer tongue weight is 718lbs. But the only outside storage area is at front of camper and I know I will exceed 750 lbs. What bar rating do you suggest. Towing with 1500 Ram 4wd hitch is 12 year old Draw Tire. Also need new snap up brackets. Thanks

Due to the age of your system, the fact it's not rated high enough, and the fact you also need new snap up brackets your best option would be to go with new system that does not include the shank since you can easily reuse that.
So for that the Reese Trunnion Kit part # RP66022 would be what you'd want. It has a tongue weight range of 600-1,200 lbs and allows you to reuse your hitch ball and shank.
