How to Connect 12V Power Wire on ETBC7 Kit for 2017 Toyota Sienna with 4-Way Installed
Question:
I am in the process of installing a 4 pin kit on my 2017 sienna awd limited. Is it ok to use the same + connection for the 4 pin when I connect a 4 to 7 pin connector? What I mean is, can I simply Y the connection one to the box for the 4 pin kit and the other leg of the Y to the 7 pin +?

The available 4-Way wiring harnesses for your 2017 Toyota Sienna such as the Tekonsha # 118648 require a hot lead to be run to the vehicle's battery after the T-One connections are secured. This is to power the converter which protects your Sienna's factory wiring and also ensures that the vehicle wiring matches that of your trailer.
When converting the 4-Way to a fully functional 7-Way using the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7, you should not run the power wire from the kit to the powered converter or hot lead on the 4-Way harness. You will need to again run the wire up to the battery's positive using an additional ring terminal and circuit breaker (which are included in the ETBC7 Kit). Connecting the 12V power wire to the 4-Way converter will likely overdraw the harness and may damage the box.
I have attached the complete installation instructions for the # ETBC7 Wiring Kit that you can also take a look at.
