Where to Mount Wiring on Trailer Hitch for 2018 Subaru Outback
Question:
Hi, I am shopping for a hitch for a 2018 Outback. I will probably install the Draw-Tite 76227 hitch or similar Torklift Eco-hitch for the cleaner look as opposed to having an exposed cross tube. I would plan on using tralier wiring that just came out of the hatch when needed, but i was wondering if there is a way to cleanly mount the wiring externally when using one of these hitches without the exposed cross tube. Although Idont know that Id ever need to install one, I am also be curious if there is a way to have trailer break control wiring come out of the back of the hatch when needed? The install videos i saw showed mounting the connector to the cross tube of a different style hitch .

There is a way for you to mount trailer wiring if you were using a brake controller on your 2018 Subaru Outback if you are installing a trailer hitch with a hidden cross tube such as the Draw-Tite # 76227 or EcoHitch # 306-X7601.
The 4-way harness you use, such as the T-One # 118467 that fits your '18 Outback, is going to have to come out of your hatch but you could then attach it to the safety chain rings.
