The Thule Outbound Roof Mounted Cargo Bag you referenced, part # TH868 would work great with your Honda Pilot.

The bag easily attaches to the side rails and cross bars with the included straps. When fully expanded, the bag provides up to 13 cubic feet of storage space. The bag is described as weather resistant but I always recommend that everything placed in the bag be wrapped in plastic, as heavy rain will eventually work its way into any roof top cargo bag.

To prevent scratching, always ensure that the vehicle roof and the bottom of the bag is spotlessly clean and free of grit before installation. Giving the roof a good coat of quality car wax is also a good idea.
