The MaxxAir MaxxFan Plus Roof Vent # MA00-04500K has a powered lid which closes automatically when the rain sensor detects moisture or when you use the remote control or keypad. The fan on this vent will continue to run even with the lid closed if the unit is set to operate in the selectable ceiling fan mode. Operation of the fan is also controlled by the thermostat setting.
I suggest making sure you do not have the ceiling fan operating mode engaged.
