Should we be using this controller all the time, or just in emergency? Should we use it on curves, at stop signs, etc? Thank you

The Hopkins Agility Trailer Brake Controller # HM47294 will be used every time you hit your brake pedal when a trailer is connected. The manual override (red button) only will be used for emergency braking. The controller has an internal sensor to ensure when installed correctly the trailer brakes will apply the same pressure at the same as you hit the brake pedal in your tow vehicle.
You will not use the manual override on curves or at stop signs. The controller will proportionately brake your trailer with the same intensity as you press your brake pedal.
