Is Custom Wedge Needed for Pro Series 15K 5th Wheel Hitch 30090

Question:

I have a Reese 16k revolution king pin box and a Reese 15k pro series 30090 fifth wheel hitch. The hitch was bought in 2011 and the camper is new. I have read you need the custom wedge. Does that mean the universal wedge that came with the revolution box wont work with this fifth wheel hitch?

The universal wedge that came with the Revolution Pin Box on your trailer should technically work with your Reese 16K hitch but it won't offer the kind of secure fit that the Custom Wedge # 30850 will. Because the universal wedge is designed so that it works with just about any hitch, it won't have as secure a fit with the hitch when compared to a wedge that was made specifically for it.

The custom wedge will simply fit better with your Reese hitch and should also make it easier to hookup with your trailer when it's time for a trip. I have attached a short video demonstration on this wedge that you can check out as well.
