Recommended Bushings and Bolts for Trailer Suspension Upgrade
Question:
I was given the tel. #,by one of your reps., to Redline for a question about wet bolt length. The person at Redline said that wet bolts should not be used with nylon bushings. What is the advantage to bronze bushings if they dont las any longer than nylon. Thanks

The Bronze Bushings # K71-291-00 will work well with the wet bolts # 34007-187-00 which are 3-5/8 inches long. The usable length is 2-1/4 inches which will work well with the bronze bushings that are 1.74 inches long. As you stated, wet bolts can vary in length and should not be used with the nylon bushings # TRBU11566 as they cause them to break down prematurely.
If you are simply wanting a bushing kit that requires no maintenance and will last, I recommend the Never Fail Tandem Axle Suspension Upgrade Hardware Kit for Double Eye Springs # LC281285 or # LC279685. The bushings are an extra-durable, modified polyamide construction that never wears out. They are self-lubricating and maintenance-free so there is no messy grease.
