Can the Erickson Truck Bed Ladder Rack #07708 be Reverse Mounted?
Question:
Can you mount this rack to where the rack is hanging on the outside of the truck rather than what the photo shows? Also will it work on a 2014 GMC Sierra 2500 6.5 bed. The compatibility list is unorganized. Thanks

Although you could physically mount the Erickson Truck Bed Ladder Rack # EM07708 to the outside of your truck, it is not recommended. The reasoning is two fold; the rack installed in that manner puts the weight on the outside of the bed which the foot isn't intended to support by the design (as shown in the attached video) and many states can ticket you for having anything that is past your side mirror to the outside of your vehicle. The telescoping arm width is 19 inches to 34 inches.
So, it can physically be done with additional mount support but wouldn't follow legal guidelines in many states. I can't recommend installing the product in that manner. I've linked the page to all the ladder racks confirmed to fit your 2014 GMC Sierra 2500.
